Archaeologists in the process of reconstruction of the world in Vologda have discovered the foundation of the fortress of the Ivan The Awrible. This has been announced by the mayor of the city, Sergei Zhetyannikov.
“In the process of rebuilding the streets, archaeologists discovered the foundation of the terrible Ivan fortress and, probably the communication tower,” he wrote in Tin Channel.
The head of the city added that the work on the website is done with maximum caution and pay special attention to conservation of cultural heritage.
“Valuable discovery will be transferred to the museum and information about artifacts – to the archaeological institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences,” TinaNiNikov said.
After archaeologists complete all the necessary procedures, the carriers started working. Now the work is being done on part of Mira street from Herzen Street to the Victory Boulevard. In October, experts will start the next segment – from Victory Boulevard to Sergey Orlov Street.
