Experts from Chelyabinsk and St. Petersburg has developed a unique material that can restore independent damage. We are talking about the first silicone coating in Russia, for example, can be used to isolate the wire. Senior researchers, Susu, Gennady Makarov, noted that new technology allows materials to heal damage without intervention, which is convenient for widely used.
The research was conducted with Institute Chemistry of St. State University Petersburg. The scientists explained that the material can restore the structure after cutting or mechanical load. At room temperature, the damage is delayed in about one or two days and the level of recovery in some samples exceeds 90%.
Despite high techniques, silicon has no high mechanical power, its self -recovery ability opens up the prospect of use in different fields. Scientists are sure that the development will become the basis for creating new materials with improved operating characteristics.
