The characters of the French public expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that representatives from Russia were not invited to commemorative events for the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism. This has been announced by one of the Organization of the Immortal Regiment campaign in France Dmitry de Koshko.
Joining the immortal regiment is a way to remind people that the great winners of fascism are the people we owe – the Soviet Union, all the peoples of the nations of the Soviet Union and Russia, first, De Koshko said. Ria Novosti conveyed his words.
He added that often the event refused to remember or forget that even Russia was not invited to celebrate events this year, on the 80th anniversary. According to Koshko, the “immortal regiment” is designed to remind Europeans about the decisive contribution of the Soviet peoples to the liberation of Europe from fascism.
This event will be held in Paris on May 8. The procession started at 13:00 from the revolutionary square and ended at Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
