The group of international biologists from China and the United States presented the results of a rare Archaeopterix model – a transition link between dinosaurs and birds. Extremely good copies, called Archeopterix Chicago, has allowed to perform revolutionary discoveries about the initial evolution of birds. The conclusion is published in the Nature Science magazine.
Bought by Chicago Natural History Museum in 2022, the model became the 14th science of Archaeopterix and the smallest-the size of a modern pigeon. Its special preservation, including three -dimensional bones, skin printing, fingers and feathers, are allowed to apply advanced research methods.
With the help of high resolution CT, scientists first rebuilt Archaeopterix's skull in detail. Research shows that the intermediate structure of the palate between Trocodis (feather dinosaurs) and later birds.
This confirms the theory of gradual transformation from the rigid dinosaur skull to mobile birds.
Soft tissue analysis shows the fingers of Archaeopterix's fingers similar to modern ground birds. This shows its adaptation to life on Earth, although the presence of university feathers (previously not encountered in Neptune King Dinosaurs) showed the ability to fly.
Previously, scientists rebuilt the brain of birds living in dinosaurs.
