Microsoft prepares Windows 11 for new threats in cyber security related to the development of quantum computers. In one of the latest versions of the system, the assembly of Canary 27 852 or higher, the support of the newly appeared password can withstand hack with the help of quantum computing power.
The company updated its Symcrypt password library, adding to post -Quantum encryption algorithms. These algorithms are designed to protect data and digital signatures under the condition when classical encryption methods may become vulnerable to quantum calculation.
The ML-Kem algorithm aims to prevent threats when today's attackers collect encrypted data to decode them later by using quantum computers. ML-DSA helps to check the authenticity and integrity of digital signatures, which is important to identify users and security messages.
Post -candum algorithms require more resources -larger sizes of courses, calculated capacity and larger than traditional methods. At the same time, they are chosen by the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the United States (NIST) to balance security and performance.
Technology is currently tested on Windows 11 and in the future, it is planned to integrate IT and other operating systems, including Linux. Microsoft has not yet published when such algorithms appear in disc encryption systems, because this requires serious hardware resources.
