The group of international astronomers, led by Sylvia Belladita from the Max Planck Astronomy Institute in Germany, reported the opening of 25 new quasars with a red shift over 4.6 – this is one of the remote and brightest objects in the universe. The print of the work is published on the ARXIV portal. Quasars is one of the most mysterious objects of the space. These are the nucleus active of the galaxies, nourished by extremely black holes.
They radiate energy in all range of electromagnetic spectrum: from radio to x -ray. Due to its brightness, the quasar can be seen at a huge distance and serves as a “brand light” to study the first space. The quasar with red Z> 4.4 belongs to the ancient and the farthest objects we can observe. Their spectrum research, scientists will be able to determine the mass of black holes and draw conclusions about the formation of the first galaxies and the evolution of the universe. “We have used the data of optical, infrared and radio programs, as well as the previous compiled categories of candidates for the quasar,” the authors of the work explained.
Ba Kvazar (MQC J021+19, MQC J133−02 and PSO J200−13) turned out to be radio tanks – that is, they emit a particularly strong radio radiation. One of them, PSO J200−13, is said to be blazer, an object with strong radio radiation and alternating straight towards the Earth. One of the Quasar, PSO J041+06, it turned out to be a rare representative of the quasar combined with weak emission lines – a single class of object, the nature is still unclear. The authors emphasized that the new discovery became able to rely on the reconfolded data from astronomical reviews. This confirms that even good categories can hide unexpected findings.
