On the night of June 11, residents of some areas of Russia, European and Eastern countries observed a rare astronomical phenomenon – the full moon in June, called “strawberry moon”.
Pictures and videos of the moon moon spread on social networks and electric channels. Users have been shared by employees from Crimea, Primorye, Tyumen, Liverpool, Athens, Iraqi City, Cyprus, Türkiye and others. In Moscow and Central Russia, this phenomenon can be seen at night and in Vladivostok – in the morning.
The name “Moon Moon” is not related to the color of the body of the body, but comes from Indian traditions, where the full moon in June coincides with the collection of strawberries. Although the moon really seems ruddy or red, this is due to the refractive in the atmosphere at a low position on the horizon. The next full moon with similar conditions is expected by 2043.
