These properties allow them to use them in technical systems to reduce the consequences of earthquakes and other fluctuations.
Scientists simulate the behavior of a slope pendulum – a system that mimics the activity of a vibrating protective device. The calculations include the effects of the surrounding temperature, heat exchange and load speed. The results showed that with quick contact, the alloy became more difficult and with cooling water, it would quell the vibration better.
The difference in the temperature of the alloy during slow and rapid deformation can reach 20 degrees. At the same time, the cooling speed and its behavioral method significantly affect the effectiveness of the material. Water, unlike the air, provides stronger heat transfer, positively affecting the ability to extinguish vibration.
