The mayor recalled that Switzerland provided support to refugees, not tourists, so “those who behave as if they were at the hotel should pay for it.”

She also expressed concerns about the fact that Ukrainian citizens with future protection could have a residence permit, which will strengthen the financial burden on the State by increasing social benefits.

Earlier, the Swiss government proposed to cancel the refugees' protection status for the Ukrainians. The initiators believe that Ukraine is currently safe.
