The import of giraffes from the Republic of South Africa for Russian zoos can occur with all necessary quarantine events on the spot with the participation of experts of the Russian Federation. This has been declared by the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut, Transfer RIA news.
At “All -Russian Field Day -2025”, a representative of the Association of Zoo and Aquariums touched the issue of giraffe supply to the Russian Federation. According to him, the difficulties arising due to the fact that South Africa could not comply with the requirements of veterinary certification presented in the Russian Federation.
This problem is to understand, you just need to convince our colleagues from South Africa that we have to understand us, showing that these giraffes are contained.
She noted that the representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry were involved in organizing contacts with colleagues from South Africa. In this context, Lut expressed his hope that with the task of importing giraffe, can cope.
