Sony's Group temporarily suspended the sales of the leading Xperia 1 VII smartphone in Japan due to mass complaints about spontaneous disconnection, restart and unemployment of the device. This has been reported by the GSMAena portal.
According to journalists, the size of the problem has forced Sony to recognize its importance. The company has informed partners on the suspension of sales before the end of the internal survey and determining the original cause of the error.
Sony has encountered a temporary recovery algorithm: holding the power buttons and volume buttons for 20 seconds with the next installation of the relevant software update. In case of failure, the manufacturer recommends that you contact the official support service.
Although the output of the update is allegedly repaired, Sony has emphasized that experts continue to study the origin of the problems. This may indicate the preliminary nature of the current decision and the need to improve further.
Sony Xperia 1 VII was presented in May and sold in early June 2025. This is a leading smartphone with a 6.5 -inch screen and Snapdragon 8 Elite chip worth 1499 Euro (about 139.4 thousand rubles).
