Scientists from the United States are considered for the first time as the particles in the plasma round that can be collected on planets. To do this, they used a special installation with rotating cylinders and liquid metals that mimic the behavior of the substance in the space. The work has been published in the journal Physics (PRL).

The collection plate is large rings from gases and dust surrounding stars and black holes. The researchers believe the planets were formed from such disks. But their formation process is not completely clear.
Physicists from Princeton laboratory have used a device of two rotating metal tubes. Between them is a special liquid, similar to plasma. It turned out that if such a ring was a bit uniformly swaying, the particles began to change: some – outside and others – inside. Internal accumulation and eventually turn into a planet.
Our experiments have shown that such fluctuations may arise more often than we think, and perhaps they are starting the process of the planet's birth, Yin Yin Van explained the work of the work.
The particularly interesting thing is that this sway may occur even if there is no influence of gravity – there is a difference in the speed of the substance. It is also observed in space, for example, at the edge of the sunshine or in the vicinity of the black holes.
The authors noted: Although their studies are done on earth, they allow better understanding the structure of the universe. It is especially important to study the process of forming planets similar to the Earth, from air clouds.
