The contract to create a European fighter jet of a new generation within the framework of the British global hydraulic program (GCAP) was planned to end in 2026-2027. Regarding this publication, the defense news was known from the Italian Air Force (Air Force) General Gzanddomenico Tarikko.

According to him, an industrial enterprise with the participation of British Bae Systems, Leonardo of Italy and Jaiec of Japan, will start working within a few weeks and will be headquartered at the same building in Ruck near London as the GCAP International Office Management Office (Gigo).
After 12-15 months, the total number of employees of a joint venture and Gigo will have about 1,000 people, he said.
Tarikko added that the first international contract will be signed by Gigo with a joint venture at the end of 2025, and then Gigo will most likely sign a design contract and develop with a joint venture at the end of 2026 or early 2027.
In July, the Breaking Defense publication reported that the concept of a new generation fighter jet is being developed as part of the GCAP program, which was shown at the Farnborro air show in the UK.
GCAP fighters are planned to be applied in 2035. The new aircraft will be able to replace Typhoon Eurofighter of Italy and England, as well as F-2 of Japan.
