2.3 million Istanbul population is between the ages of 15-24. 15 percent of the population is the youth group. The data means about 400,000 young people in the city do not read and do not work. Both education and employment are not much more common in young people who do not complete any official schools. 7 out of 10 young people in this situation are not working and not trained.
According to ITO's report, young people have to receive social support to overcome the difficulties they encounter. Education and employment policies also need to be reviewed. In the study, the reasons for this situation have been listed. In addition, the inappropriate of vocational and technical training programs is one of the negative factors.
