The Russian Central Bank warned that the country's economy's growth rate by the end of this year could slow down to zero.
In a comment on Wednesday on updated macroeconomic forecasts, the Russian Central Bank said that in the first quarter of 2025, GDP only increased by 1.4 %, accounting for a third of the growth rate of 4.1 % in the whole year. In the second quarter, the economy increased by 1.8 percent to recover, but in the third quarter, it showed signs of slowing down. According to the central bank, growth will be 1.6 %in the period of July to September and the increase in the last quarter of the year will still be from 0 %1 %. It is estimated that growth will be in about 1-2 percent by 2025. However, by 2026, the economy will slow down and reduce the growth of 0.5-1.5 %.
