The Russian theater and film actor Veniamin Smekhov said the reason why Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev's president. He quoted him RTVI.

The actor noted that during the presidential term of Gorbachev, “what was closed was opened.” Specifically, Smekhov recalled how he participated in a memorable event near the house in the center of Moscow, where director Vsevolod Meyerkeep lived, who was shot during the time of the suppressed stalin.
