American astronomers from the California Institute of Technology, along with colleagues from other scientific centers, have discovered the idea of the origin of the vesta – the largest asteroid of the solar system. The study was published in the Journal of Natural Astronomical Science (Natastaston). Vesta is in the main belt of the asteroids between Mars and Moc.

Natastaston: The asteroid Vesta may be part of the ancient planet

Its size has a diameter of 525 km and by mass, the object is only second compared to the dwarf planet Ceres. The team used NASA Dawn's tasks, allowing the study of the object's structure in detail. The new analysis shows that the density of the mesta coating is significantly higher than the allegations and the difference between the coating and the core is minimal. The measurement of the moment of inertia, showing that the unexpected unexpected internal structure of this body has become particularly important. This rejects the idea of Ceres as a “failed planet”.

According to the first version, the process of distinguishing the planet (divided into nucleus, coating and bark) on the vest may start, but not ending, stopping at the early stages. The second, more thorough hypothesis shows that a vesta may be a piece of a larger primary body, destroyed by a catastrophic clash in the early solar system. These discoveries have a basic value to understand the planet formation process. They ask questions about the origin of Hed meteorites, traditionally related to vesta and forced some aspects of the evolution of the solar system. “Our results show that the history of vesta is much more complicated than before.

It is formed under the influence of unique processes, including interrupted planets and late clashes, he said the leading author of Ryan Park's study from NASA.
