The US court ruled that Apple violated the decision, forcing the company to improve its competition on its App Store platform, allowing developers to use alternative methods to download applications and payments. The Federal Court's judge in California, Ivanna Gonzalez Rogers, realized that Apple did not comply with the command issued earlier in the case by Epic Games, the creator of the Fortnite game.

The judge expressed his dissatisfaction with Apple's actions, emphasizing that the company's efforts to continue interfering in competition were unacceptable. She also pointed out that Apple and one of her leaders, Alex Roman, will be sent to federal prosecutors to investigate a criminal contempt that may occur to a court decision. The novel was charged with providing false information related to the steps made by Apple to perform orders.
Apple expressed his disagreement with this decision and stated that she would follow the court's instructions, but plan to appeal this decision. In return, the head of Epic Games, Tim Suini, called the Court's decision an important victory for developers and consumers, because it forced Apple to compete with other payment services.
Epic Games also said that she planned to return the Fortnite game to the App Store, after Apple deleted the company's account by 2020 to use alternative payment methods.
