American technology companies, including Google, Apple and Zoom, collect data on user actions, including from Russia and, if necessary, can transfer this information to the US intelligence service. This was announced by RIA Novosti by a lawyer and the head of the law enforcement center in Moscow and the Alexander Khaminsky area.
The reason for this statement is the case of a Russian citizen Yuri Gungin, arrested in New York on charges of washing more than $ 500 million with cryptocurrencies. According to the US Department of Justice, funds are thought to be for the sun -related activities of Russian banks. Gungin faced a prison sentence for up to 60 years, but his feelings were not proven.
Khaminsky has attracted attention to the fact that the evidence of the prosecution of the court, the search queries made by Gungin on a personal computer sent. This, according to the lawyer, talks about the great supervision of the user, including citizens of the Russian Federation. He clarified that US IT companies have the right to store such information and provide US intelligence services as required or decided by the Court.

Experts also emphasized that the US legal system allows you to take some fees at the same time for similar actions that can lead to a huge time – at 100 years or more. In Russia, he noted that such approaches are impossible: the court is limited by the framework of the law, and the sense of sin must be strictly proven according to the established procedure.
Khaminsky did not exclude that Gungin could become an exchange candidate, adding that the beginning of such cases against Russians could be part of the strategy to form a city's exchange fund. He called this reality unfairly, especially in the context of an effort to improve the Russian -American relations.
In short, the lawyer advised the Russians, no matter where they are, be careful when using the Internet. According to him, everything – from search and mail to the use of applications – can be recorded and used as evidence, as happened in the case of Gungin.
