Russian scientists have developed an advanced method to increase the oil recovery of kerogen shale. Such oil rocks are extremely difficult to develop and are quite popular in Russia, the United States, China and South America. Research is based on long -term experiments with shale samples that can complete and summarize the seven -year industrial project cooperation with a large oil and oil company, which can start the field trials of the proposed method soon. Fuel slate – a stone – classification of oil with high mature solid organic content, called kerogen. One like that is characterized by very low porous and permeability, so it is difficult to extract oil from it. At the same time, even the use of standard methods to increase the ability to recover oil, such as carbon dioxide pump and hydraulic fracture, allowing you to release liquid oil, liquid from shale. For Kerogen itself, it is usually not included in the calculation of hydrocarbon: in natural conditions, it will become liquid oil after only millions of years.
We have given and experienced an artificially converted manner into oil and releases it from class right in school. To do this, in this breed, you need to download a very hot water under the pressure of 200-300 in a model that has been treated at level 1. Kerogen by mass, almost all the kerogen has been turned into liquid oil, extracted almost entirely from this breed.
A experiment has completed a series of long trials as part of the seven -year industrial project lasting 10 days. All of this time, the Institute's staff, work comfortably, monitor the status of the device and make a fence of oil samples released from this breed. Based on the results of observation and measurement, scientists came to the conclusion that when the target area was reached, the water should have a temperature of at least 350 ° C. Then the process of converting kerogen naturally into oil, taking millions of years at 100 ° C, accelerated until the problem (even as much as the oil extract time.
The next question is how to provide super -critical water to a depth of 3 km and oil extract formed from there. As a rule, in the case of a low dog breed, a horizontal well drilled and the hydraulic expansion of the layer is created – watering with reagent under pressure for the formation of cracks in solid rocks. Typically, then, to increase oil change, liquid and/or carbon dioxide are pumped into a horizontal well, then the oil is pumped out and this cycle is repeated. With super critical water, such approach should also work, but, it turns out, there is a better option.
If you use a well, then a significant part of the water at each download will be lost in the classroom, add a part of the oil created from the well. We suggest drilling two wells at the same time, parallel in a horizontal plane: liquid requires high purity of water, so no additional chemicals are used.
