The United States Federal Division warns tourists about the dangers of using USB ports that can be openly accessed to charge devices at airports, hotels and other public places, because attackers can use them to install malware on smartphones and data theft. This hack method is called Juice Jacking. It was reported by USA Today.

USA Today: Hackers can use the public USB fee to hack smartphones

The US Traffic Security Department (TSA) in its official statement has called for citizens to avoid connecting devices directly to public USB ports. Hackers can install malware through USB ports. Therefore, while at the airport, do not connect the phone directly. Using your own network adapter or mobile battery, the department said.

The Federal Communications Committee (FCC) also recommends using existing stores (AC) alternately with separate chargers and cables for charging. If using USB port is inevitable, experts recommend paying attention to the overlooked windows on the smartphone screen. If the request appears “trust this computer?” Or exchange of the Viking data, you must always choose the charging option.

In addition, experts warn against the use of free public network Wi-Fi.

Do not use free public Wi-Fi, especially if you plan to buy online. Never enter secret information when connected to unprotected networks, according to Warns TSA.

Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs recommended that the Russians did not include a common function when communicating with scammers.
